Hailed for her "great dynamic sensitivity and exquisite phrasing," Samantha Johnson-Helms is a sought-aftercollaborative musician and arts administrator. She currently serves as Executive Director and Principal Clarinet of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra as well as Principal Clarinet of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and Second Clarinet/E-flat Clarinet of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. She has been a featured soloist with the Butler University Symphony Orchestra, Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and Columbus Symphony Orchestra of Indiana. Sammy is also an in-demand substitute for ensembles in the Midwest and can be heard on recordings for Naxos and Hal Leonard. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Butler University, a Master of Music degree from the Indiana University (IU) Jacobs School of Music, and Doctor of Music degree, also from IU.
